Codesign continues online

February 24th saw the first of our online codesign meetings with TOWN (the developer) and MOLE (the architects). To keep the sessions interactive, we used an online whiteboard tool called Miro.

Mole presented a new site layout for feedback both from TOWN and from the two cohousing groups (Suvana and Northstowe). 

• Shared what had informed that evolved design - sharing a short summary of what they had heard from the in-person codesign session on 8th February, relevant parts of the design code, and feedback received on an earlier version of the site layout.

• Shared a new version of the site layout with the key moves shown, in summary these are:

• Block B (Suvana) Common House along bottom part of the central lane, Block C (Northstowe) Common House further along the lane.

• Houses, not apartments, to front the greenway.

• Both car parking courts moved away from the central lane.

• Green/brown roofs or coach house style apartments over parking courts.

• Options for apartment blocks as to where the deck access is located and where balconies are located.

• Early thinking regarding common house layout:

• All ground floor rooms vs some rooms on first floor

• location of guest bedrooms
